DISTRICT COURT
BENCH TRIALS
Bench Trials in this District move more quickly than jury trials. The days tend to be longer with slightly less formality. The Judges try their cases using the "chess-clock" method. Some Judges require counsel to read deposition designations into the record. This prevents counsel from submitting transcripts for the appellate record which are not offered and explained to the Judge at trial.
